Community Guidelines

Aria is built on respect, creativity, and real conversation. These guidelines exist to keep the platform safe and welcoming for everyone.

1. Be Respectful

Treat everyone with dignity. Disagree thoughtfully. You don't have to agree with everyone, but personal attacks, insults, and disrespectful behavior are not tolerated.

2. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited on Aria:

Hate Speech

Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.

Harassment and Bullying

Targeting individuals with unwanted, hostile, or intimidating behavior. This includes repeated unwanted contact, doxxing (sharing personal information), coordinated attacks, and threats of any kind. This prohibition extends to cross-session harassment (following a user between sessions to harass them) and coordinated harassment (organizing groups to target a user). Aria uses automated detection to identify patterns of harassment across sessions.

Threats and Violence

Content that threatens, glorifies, or incites violence against any person or group. This includes threats of physical harm, self-harm encouragement, and terrorist content.

Sexually Explicit Content

Sexually explicit audio content, solicitation, or sexual content involving minors (CSAM). Aria has zero tolerance for CSAM. All suspected CSAM is immediately flagged by our automated moderation pipeline, reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via CyberTipline, and escalated to law enforcement. Accounts involved in CSAM are permanently terminated without appeal.

Illegal Activity

Content that promotes, facilitates, or depicts illegal activities including drug trafficking, fraud, and distribution of illegal substances.

Spam and Manipulation

Automated or repetitive content, fake engagement, misleading impersonation, and deceptive practices designed to manipulate the platform.

Copyright Infringement

Sharing copyrighted music, audio, or other creative works without authorization. Aria uses ACRCloud audio fingerprinting to detect unauthorized copyrighted music in recorded sessions. See our DMCA Policy for takedown procedures and our Repeat Infringer Policy for the three-strike system.

3. Recording Rules

Stage sessions may be recorded with participant consent. All speakers must provide explicit consent before recording begins, and consent is logged with a timestamp. Recording sessions through external means (screen recording, external microphones, third-party apps) is strictly prohibited. Redistributing session audio without the explicit consent of all participants violates these guidelines and may violate applicable law. See our Recording Consent Policy for full details.

4. Enforcement

Violations are handled based on severity:

Tier 1: Warning

First-time minor violations. You'll receive a warning explaining the violation. No suspension.

Tier 2: 24-Hour Suspension

Repeated minor violations or moderate violations. Your account is temporarily suspended for 24 hours.

Tier 3: 7-Day Suspension

Serious violations or continued minor violations after previous warnings. Your account is suspended for 7 days.

Tier 4: Permanent Ban

Severe violations (CSAM, credible threats, doxxing) result in immediate permanent removal. Accumulating 3 strikes also results in a permanent ban.

Creator-Specific Enforcement

Creators with monetization enabled are subject to additional consequences during enforcement:

Automated moderation may produce false positives. All automated actions can be appealed through the Appeals Process.

5. Platform Safety

Misinformation and Harmful Claims

Content that promotes dangerous misinformation is prohibited, including:

We recognize the difference between good-faith discussion of controversial topics and deliberate misinformation campaigns. Context matters, and enforcement focuses on content that poses a clear risk of harm.

Fraud and Deceptive Practices

The following deceptive practices are prohibited:

Defamation

Making false statements of fact about identifiable individuals that damage their reputation is prohibited. If you believe you have been defamed on Aria, you may report it through the in-app reporting system or by emailing safety@aria-live.app.

Election and Political Content

Aria does not prohibit political discussion. However, the following is prohibited:

Our AI moderation systems flag potential election misinformation for human review rather than automated removal, to minimize the risk of suppressing legitimate political speech.

Creator Responsibilities

Creators who host sessions have a responsibility to maintain a safe environment:

6. Reporting

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines:

We review all reports and take action within 24 hours for standard reports and immediately for safety-critical reports.

7. Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, you have the right to appeal. Appeals can be submitted in-app (Profile → Settings → Strike History → Appeal) or by emailing appeals@aria-live.app. Appeals are reviewed within 48 hours. Permanent bans for CSAM or credible threats of violence are not eligible for appeal. See our Appeals Process for full details.

8. Changes

We may update these guidelines as the community grows. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use of Aria constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
